2016 World of Wheels & Tuner Galleria - Chicago

The World of Wheels returned to the Chicago area this past weekend, March 4th through the 6th.  Thousands of people traveled to Rosemont, IL to see some of the best vehicles in the area and throughout the country on display at the Rosemont Convention Center.  From a classic ’56 Bel Air to a Lamborghini, there was something for everyone.   Families were welcomed and had the chance to meet many celebrities and even get autographs.  The large displays of motorcycles, classic cars, muscle cars, concept vehicles, low riders and product booths provided lots of excitement for all.

On Saturday the second floor was opened up to a vast display of tuner vehicles.  From noon until 10pm, it looked like the set of The Fast and the Furious.  Hundreds of today’s most popular cars were on display, including a Nissan R34 GTR, as seen in the popular franchise.  Spectators were treated to today’s most popular imports, domestics and exotics.  This was truly a great show for the younger generation of car enthusiasts, myself included.

2014 Another Level Car Show has come and gone and we were there to cover the event for all that missed it.  First off, I’d like to congratulate Justin Salvadalena and the rest of the Another Level staff.  You all did a great job.  From roll in to exit, it was an easy and smooth transition, showing great improvement from previous years.  Every year your team makes it easier for participants and spectators to be able to enjoy the show.

I arrived early Saturday morning to capture vehicles rolling in and those setting up.  I wasn’t early enough, because when I arrived, there were over 100 vehicles already in the show area setting up.  As I did a quick walk thru in the show area before heading out to the street, I noticed how much more room there was this year compared to last year.  Even better, there wasn’t a steep hill for lowered cars to struggle to navigate.  I knew it was going to be a great day for a show even though the weather forecast called for slightly overcast skies.

While I was capturing snap shots of the cars rolling in, I realized that this really was going to be the show of the year.  There were so many awesome looking vehicles, from old school Toyota Corollas to Lamborghini Aventadors.  As I entered the show area, I recognized many faces and spent time talking with them and listening to all of the upgrades they had done in preparation for the show.  A few drivers mentioned that they work really hard all year just to bring their cars to this show in A-one shape knowing that there is a massive amount of competition.  Some of the few that really stood out to me were the old school Datsun and Toyota.  Maybe because I am an old school guy, I really enjoy seeing these cars show up in the show scene.  Oh and don’t forget E-Xtreme Graphics’ GMC 100 pick-up truck.  Love this truck.  Just awesome and talking with owner, he said if he lost everything, this would be the last thing to go.

Always a jaw dropping booth is Chicago Rally and Eurocharged Performance. They really bring it with high-end exotic cars including Lamborghini, Ferrari, Aston Martin, Lotus, etc..  One special appearance that got the crowd all hyped up was the Twin Turbo UGR Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera.  This car was a beast; I was told it had close to 2000hp.  Hate to see my Geo against this car on the road!

Adventure Supercars was also on hand offering a chance to be able to take out one of the many supercars they have on a track for the experience of a lifetime.  These guys were great and this was certainly a unique way to spend your afternoon.  There were over 30 vendors showcasing their shops and products, including Autoglass Masters, Elite Auto Center, Fatboy Decals, Chameleon Skinz, Project X, JDM Chicago, Street Legal Audio, Stance Down Low, and BTM, just to name a few. Special thanks to all who help support Bombshell Bullies Pit Bull Rescue and Northern Illinois Food Bank.

It wouldn’t have been a show without DJ Jeffrey Parra spinning all night.  This show did not disappoint me at all.  I really had a great time working with the Another Level Staff and though I had originally planned to stay only a few hours, I ended up there throughout the whole show.  It was great time and looks that all had great time too.  I know for sure next year will be even bigger.  They had a lot of space and those who didn’t attend will for sure look into it next year.  Till next year, everyone be safe.

2014 Another Level Car Show Best Of Show

Best Show in Chicago..... Another Level Car Show 2014

The wait is over!  In a couple of days, one of the biggest and best car shows in Chicago will be taking place.  I have had the opportunity to attend this event for the last 3 years, from where it originally started in a Metra parking garage in Palatine, IL, to its current home at Boomer Stadium in Schaumburg, IL.  This will be the second year this event will be held at Boomer Stadium since exceeding the space in Palatine.

Here you will see over 600 cars from exotics, domestics, imports, German, and even scooters.  When I tell you this is an event you don’t want to miss, I am serious.  This year they are expecting a record number of participants and over 5,000 spectators.  The show is scheduled to run on Saturday, August 16, 2014 from 4-9pm, with roll in from 1-4pm.  Make sure you arrive early to get a good spot and not have to wait in line to get in.   It will get crazy and all 20 employees will have their hands full to make sure all goes as smoothly as possible.

There will be 40 vehicle classes, with one lucky winner crowned Best in Show, a distinction given by the efforts of all 15 judges.  Make sure to go visit key sponsors Chicago Rally, Eurocharged Performance, Adventure SuperCars, and AutoGlass Masters.  Benefiting charities this year are Bombshell Bullies and Northern Illinois Food Bank.  Registration for the car show is closed but you can still enter your car onsite.  The price will be $30 on a first come first serve basis until room runs out.  Admission is $10, or you can pay $8 with a non-perishable canned food donation.

If you are a participant, make sure to keep an eye out as I will be shooting cars rolling in and later throughout the show.  Don't forget to smile and show off what you’ve got!  I’d really like to thank in advance Justin Salvadalena and his staff for making this even possible.  Please remember to be respectful to others, follow all directions given from staff and respect the show vehicles.  See you all Saturday rain or shine - we all will be there.  Drive safe!

Note;

This was posted on Another Level facebook page regarding Judging.

Another Level 2014 Judging System:

We are proud to introduce a new judging system to the Another Level Car Show this year. As one of the Midwest's largest shows, there are an enormous amount of vehicles. In addition, a high number of people wish to simply showcase their cars and refrain from competing with them.

In answer to this, we have two solutions to free up the judges to concentrate fully on the top level cars at the event.

At roll in, you will be issued a judging sheet. If you wish to be judged, then make sure this sheet is displayed either under your driver side windshield wiper, or plainly visible and accessible to the judges on the driver’s side dashboard. If you do NOT want to be judged, then simply leave this sheet off your car and get about your business of enjoying the show!

Second, between 4 PM and 5PM we will have a preliminary elimination round. During this time the judges will take a look at each vehicle and determine which vehicles make it to the next round. During this time we are not judging on cleanliness or presentation. So have no worries if you are still cleaning your car at this time. At this time, you MUST be at your car if you want to go over the basics of your vehicle, or have a detailed mod list accessible by the judges. If you or a representative is not at your car during this period, we will look at whatever is visible on the car and make our assessment based on whatever information we have. All cars that pass through the elimination round will have a colored dot placed on their judging sheet or in the lower drivers side corner of their windshield. If you have this dot, we will come back to you again and do a detailed judging of your car at that time. If you do not have this dot, please enjoy the rest of the show!

During judging, it is YOUR responsibility to be at your car to talk to the judges. If you are not present at your car, we will not be going back and rejudging any vehicles. The Judges also will NOT be opening any doors, trunks, or hoods. If you have something to show us, make sure it is visible, or you are there to open the vehicle up for us.

We will be using an Olympic style point system, and all the criteria will be plainly visible on your judging sheet.

The top point scores will then be re accessed by a committee of judges to determine the final standings.

We thank each and every one of you for participating in Another Level Car Show, and we are excited to see all of your amazing vehicles.
